CenturyLink Cuts Ribbon at American Interstate Place
CenturyLink, the telecommunications giant, dedicated its first Nebraska store Thursday.
“This is the first of many,” said Danny Pate, the company’s top Nebraska executive.
Omaha Councilwoman Aimee Melton, U.S. Rep. Lee Terry and David Brown, president and chief executive of the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce, were among those that assisted Pate in cutting a green ribbon – in keeping with the company’s logo colors – that stretched across the store’s entrance near 156th Street and West Maple Road.
Terry expressed his appreciation for the company’s commitment to bringing high-speed Internet to the Omaha area, a feature, he said, that likely will impress new and existing businesses.
“A 1-gig town, that’s one of those symbols that says you’re ready for business,” Terry said. “That’s a selling point for the chamber.”
The store, which opened late last month and employs four, offers the company’s signature services, including high-speed Internet, Prism TV – CenturyLink’s interactive TV service – home and business telephone services, and wireless phone services from Verizon Wireless.
Store visitors can view and try out many of the company’s services and equipment that line the length of one of the store’s walls.
CenturyLink offers services in 37 states, including Nebraska.
