It’s official: Chick-fil-A will debut a standalone location in Omaha this fall.

We reported in late January on a building permit that indicated the fast food chicken chain would build a new store at 17501 West Center Road, on the southwest corner of 175th Street and West Center Road.

A Chick-fil-A spoksewoman confirmed that a new restaurant is on the way. Construction is expected to begin this spring or as soon as the ground thaws, she said, and it will open by fall of this year. It will include a drive-through, playground and an outdoor patio.

Chick-fil-A has stand-alone locations in Bellevue at 2016 Cornhusker Road and in Papillion at 8710 S. 71st Plaza. Another location is inside the Mutual of Omaha building at 3333 Farnam St. in Omaha.
